What happens when we turn our attention towards the unassuming, the overlooked, the seemingly insignificant? A live performance where visuals intertwines with field recordings, chromatic zither, electronics, and voice.
Inspired by the research of plant neurobiologist Stefano Mancuso, this performance explores the abilities, sensitivities, and qualities of plants. The word “inconspicuous” can carry a sense of diminishment — suggesting something of little importance, something easily overlooked. This work turns that notion on its head, listening instead for the meaning, connections, and possibilities for understanding that can be found in the unassuming.
Performed at Vetenskapsfestivalen (Science Festival) in Göteborg, April 17, 2026. The performance was part of one eARTh creative Labs — where climate research becomes cultural experience.
