Tuesdays performance together with flautist Anna Melander became as experimental and improvised as we wished. Here are some pictures from our experience at Viva Las Palmas. A special thanks to our friends Nils Berg, Josef Kallerdahl and Viktor Skokic who invited us to play at their fantastic event, and a warm thanks to Strapelia Asterias for making a beautiful shadow play behind us!

Genom glas in app

December 4th, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

The story of the whale that got stranded in Gothenburg in 1865 turns into an application this weekend and the video and sound art work Genom glas is included. Do you want to video walk with us? Please meet us at the release Dec 6!

The Malmska valen application for iPhone, is a collection of video walks that walk you through the city physically and leads you through historical reviews as well as fiction. Along the journey several art works are staged by dance, music, film, sound art and text based monologue. The application is a collaboration between the Museum of Natural History of Gothenburg, The Museum of Gothenburg and the 3 curators Petra Johansson, Neta Norrmo and Sarah Schmidt.

Shiny jars of glass filled with guts, brains, eyes and other organs originated from the whale was what caught my eyes the most while looking through the pictorial material made by the 3 curators. A series of documentations from the catacombs of the Museum of Natural History inspired me to create the video and sound art piece Genom glas (Through Glass) that now is incorporated in the application. The sounds are composed independently but inspired by the video material.

Download “Malmska valen” at AppStore, bring you in-ears and have some ginger breads and glögg with me and the curators at the release!

Please make sure to download the free download application at AppStore in advance since it is quite heavy. Search for “Malmska valen” in your browser.

Uddevallavatten at Voices from the Waters

November 24th, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

In 2010, Richard Widerberg and I spent quite some time with all the students from 9th degree in Uddevalla on the west coast of Sweden, making sound walks and workshops. One of the groups was also part of a bigger project that we called “Uddevallavatten” (“Waters of Uddevalla”). For four days we where collecting, listening, discussing and composing sounds together with the students into a piece that was finally exhibited in a tunnel. This week, the piece is once again exhibited at the film festival Voices from the Waters, Nov 23 in Bottna/Hamburgsund, and Nov 28-29 at Sjöfartsmuseet in Göteborg, Sweden. Richard Widerberg has put together a diverse program with sound artists working with water as a topic; Annea Lockwood, Chris Watson, Bernard Parmegiani, Jana Winderen, the Piece Uddevallavatten and a piece by Richard Widerberg himself. Enjoy!

International Vistors Program in NRW, Germany

November 2nd, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

If ever in Dortmund during the Theaterfestival Favoriten, be sure to spend some time with it! I had the pleasure of being a guest at the International Visitors Program of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany where five days were spent at the Theaterfestival Favoriten in Dortmund with additional trips within the area to the fantastic Nordstern Videokunstzentrum in Gelsenkirchen, inspiring meeting with  NRW Kultursekretariat in Wuppertal and dizzying experiences at K21 in Düsseldorf. These days changed from fantastic to mind blowing and beautiful to brilliant and I am so grateful for taking part of them.

Many thanks NRW Kultursekretariat for bringing these wonderful experiences into my life! And thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and artistic views!

Bar∂arbunga drone

August 28th, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

Thanks to all of our audience in Höfn, Egilsta∂ir and Reykjavik in Iceland! We are so happy that you all took us with open arms. This trip will be remembered for lots of things. One is the very interesting work in progress with Ragnhei∂ur Sigurðardóttir Bjarnarson that me and David – Laurna Røde – experienced during the whole trip. Another is the presence of potential eruptions of the Bar∂arbunga glacier volcanos. Very inspiring for us as a drone duo. Laurna Røde can´t wait to go back!
