Göteborgs Romanfestival, Nov 18-19

October 20th, 2017 § 0 comments § permalink

Göteborgs Romanfestival is a new yearly event coming to Göteborg for the first time in November. In this years edition you will meet authors and literary scholars discussing Joyce Carol Oates and Maria Gripe. About the novel as form, genre and invention – amongst other things.

I was very happy when the festival asked me to make an installation and sound work on the topic shadows and the author Maria Gripe for this special occation. I am also very happy that the artist – Henrik Persson – will follow me on this one. Henrik is also my brother and this will be the first collaboration between us as both artists and brothers and sisters!

Tillsammans November 21

October 4th, 2015 § 0 comments § permalink

Tillsammans (Together) is an upcoming exhibition for children and their adults at The Museum of World Culture in Göteborg, Sweden, opening in November 21, 2015. Currently, I am completing 4 soundscapes ( one four channel work and three stereo works) about the difficulties and the magics of living together.

While waiting for November to come, I will finish my work by recording a bit more with these plants. By the time of the opening you will be able to find them somewhere in the swarm of impressions. The exhibition will stay around for many years so take your time, no need to rush. And the museum encourages you to come back more than once to explore more with your young friends!

Uddevallavatten at Voices from the Waters

November 24th, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

In 2010, Richard Widerberg and I spent quite some time with all the students from 9th degree in Uddevalla on the west coast of Sweden, making sound walks and workshops. One of the groups was also part of a bigger project that we called “Uddevallavatten” (“Waters of Uddevalla”). For four days we where collecting, listening, discussing and composing sounds together with the students into a piece that was finally exhibited in a tunnel. This week, the piece is once again exhibited at the film festival Voices from the Waters, Nov 23 in Bottna/Hamburgsund, and Nov 28-29 at Sjöfartsmuseet in Göteborg, Sweden. Richard Widerberg has put together a diverse program with sound artists working with water as a topic; Annea Lockwood, Chris Watson, Bernard Parmegiani, Jana Winderen, the Piece Uddevallavatten and a piece by Richard Widerberg himself. Enjoy!

On Sparse Ground at BABEL Fest

June 16th, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

Today June 16 the BABEL International Performing Arts Festival opens in Târgoviște, Romania. From tomorrow June 17 at noon, On Sparse Ground, a multi channeled sound art piece, will take place in the Chindei Tower, built in the 15th century. The tower and its three floors winding stairs will be explored sonically by field recordings from encounters with reindeers in the northern parts of Sweden, under the impact of a sparse landmass. The collected sounds are put together for this special occasion.

The BABEL International Performing Arts Festival has reached its fourth edition, reprising its activity after a five year hiatus. This year’s edition will take place between the 16th and the 21st of June, in multiple indoor and outdoor locations around Târgoviște. Read the program? On Sparse Ground in the program.

If you are anywhere nearby, enjoy!

Hovering Abode Part II at CHROmOOs Festival, DasMoosdorf

March 9th, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

April 5-6, Moosdorf-Korrektive, Berlin, Germany.

DasMoosdorf, a new cultural venue at Treptower park, run by the Moosdorf-Korrektiv e.V., will open its gates to the public for the first time during a 36-hour festival at the beginning of April. Apart from an extensive music program on two stages with acknowledged musicians and Dj’s, the festival offers a platform for contemporary dance and performance as well as a mini-film festival.

Once again Eduardo da Conceição and I get to work together with the Hovering Abode series. At the festival you will find Hovering Abode Part II, which is an extension and development of the previous sound art piece Hovering Abode. This work is a collaborative artistic research and it will be an interdisciplinary experiment when it comes to both inspiration and expression. As soon as we start building, we know more about the process…

Will we meet in Berlin April 5 – 6? Hope so!
